You cut the game after and build the next video session for your players. You make the tag buttons for your own sport.
Pelaa video analysis is a Mac app for coaches who work with game or performance video. I built it from hockey, after five seasons in the KHL plus three in Finland as a video coach and player scout, and the workflow fits any sport with video. It costs €19.99 a month and the trial is 14 days with no card.

Tag one athlete, draw on the key frames and send a short video. I priced Pelaa for one coach paying out of pocket.
I built it in hockey. Nothing in the workflow is hockey-only. See hockey video analysis software for Mac.
Open MP4, MOV, M4V, MTS or M2TS video. A tag window is a grid of buttons you name, each with its own keyboard shortcut. Save it as a template for the next game.
Every tag lands on a multi-row timeline, one row per category. Select, search by label, drag between rows and trim the edges.
Select tags and press =Equal sign to send them to the Stack. Re-trim and reorder the clips. Re-cutting a clip never touches its tag.
Press ]Closing bracket to freeze a frame, then draw with freehand, line, arrow, circle, spotlight, highlight or text. Marks on a stop frame stay and are burned into the export.
The report builder turns your tags into count or time tables. Click a number and those tags light up on the Track. Reports leave as PDF or PNG, or copy into a spreadsheet.
Plug in a camera or a capture box, press record and tag as the game happens, with instant replay while it keeps recording. A live stream link (HLS) works too, though stream recordings are video only. See tagging a game live.
⌘ECmd+E exports H.264 MP4: the whole Stack as one video, one video per row, or individual clips. Build a video session for your players covers Presentation and a second display.
Record your voice over the clips and send one file. See cutting one player's shifts and talking over them.
Tags import and export as XML and CSV. Tagged games come in, and your tag libraries travel out.
Projects are .pelaa bundles on your own Mac with the video embedded, and they work offline.
