Pelaa 1.0.21
Released: 30 September 2026 (build 46)
Zoom, a wavy stroke rebuilt from scratch, and a presentation mode that behaves like the rest of the app.
Zoom
A fourth circle style, sitting after Spotlight in the picker. It dims the frame the way a Spotlight does and magnifies what is inside the hole, so a jersey number or the angle of a stick blade can be read without anyone going back to the footage.
Three fixed steps, and the top one is capped at three times the source pixels. That cap is deliberate. A lens can only magnify what the frame already holds, and past three times a 1080p frame turns to mush, so the honest answer is a limit rather than a promise. It carries its own mask opacity, kept separate from the one your Spotlights use, and it leaves on Play like any other drawing that is not on a frozen frame.
The wavy stroke was rebuilt
A wave is now a share of its own ink. The swing and the pitch both come from the stroke width, so a wave drawn at width 2 and a wave drawn at width 12 read as the same wave instead of as a hair and a coil.
The pitch is no longer stretched to fit the stroke, which is why crests used to shuffle under the cursor while you were still dragging. A crest stops moving once it is drawn. A freehand rail is smoothed over a full cycle before the wave rides it, so a tremor in the hand no longer becomes a second wave in the line, and an arrowhead gets a straight run of shaft with the wave fading in behind it. Surface mode and an animated reveal draw the identical wave the glass does.
Presentation mode
A drawing made while presenting is a real drawing now. It can be selected, moved and opened for editing, like one made anywhere else. It used to be paint on glass.
The animation option is not offered while you are presenting or recording. That work belongs to the preparation, and a mode that invites it in front of an audience is a trap. Surface or flat, whichever you already had, and freehand is the tool on the way in.
A clip note you can see through
An opacity slider and six text colours on the note card, so an annotation sitting underneath a note stays visible and the note is still readable over a bright frame and over a dark one. It also lives under Stack ▸ Clip Note Look, so you can see the setting without opening a note, and the exported reel paints what the Stack showed.
Changed
- One note size for the project. Picking a size on a note card sets it for every note in that project, and the Stack menu sets the same thing and shows which size is current. The size you picked last seeds your next new project. This replaces the per-note size, which you could not see without opening a note. Projects made before this open at normal.
- A click on empty Track space clears the selection and leaves the playhead where it was. A second click moves the playhead, because by then nothing is selected. Tab after a deselection goes back to the tag it just lost rather than past it.
- The Stack edit bar folds sooner. The zoom slider and the search field used to squeeze rather than leave, and the icon group drew straight over them.
- The Zoom tool wears a plain magnifying glass in the picker.
Fixed
- Stopping or discarding a recording returns the window to the quadrant layout, whichever control ended it. Escape was the only way out before. A recording that ends by itself, on a stream error, does the same.
- A large Spotlight dragged toward an edge no longer peels the dim off that border. The frame cuts the lens now instead of resizing it, so the dim covers everything but the hole at every size and every position.
- Two menus no longer stall on the main thread while they are being built.
