Pelaa 1.0.2
Released: 29 May 2026
Small follow-on release after the in-person demo cycle at the end of May. Two visible bug fixes plus two pieces of plumbing that pay off from this build forward.
Bug fixes
- Tag Window edit bar collapses reliably at minimum width. On first project load with a narrow Tag Window quadrant, the edit-bar icons occasionally stayed visible instead of folding into the close button until the divider was touched. The narrow-bar fold now re-asserts after the mode is applied, and the bar's width is recomputed every layout pass rather than read from a cached value.
- Marquee selection highlight is visible on every tag button. Newly created tag buttons appeared unhighlighted under marquee selection on some palettes. The wiring was correct; the visual was the bug — multi-select now matches single-click selection exactly (darker fill, accented border, shadow).
Automatic updates
Starting with 1.0.2, Pelaa checks for new versions in the background and offers them via Pelaa → Check for Updates…. Future releases install in place; the "download a fresh DMG from the site" workflow is gone.
You can also check on demand at any time from the same menu item.
Anonymous crash diagnostics
If Pelaa crashes or freezes, an anonymous diagnostic report is sent so the underlying cause can be fixed in the next release. The report includes device model, macOS version, app version, the type of exception, and the stack trace; it does not include your project files, video content, account name, or email. This is what lets a one-developer product turn around fixes quickly across a growing user base.
Diagnostics are on by default. You can disable them at any time in Pelaa → Settings → Privacy → Crash diagnostics. Full detail in the privacy policy.
First-launch acceptance
The first time you launch Pelaa, a short sheet asks you to accept the Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. This makes the contract you formed at purchase explicit and gives you a moment to review both documents inside the app. You only see it once per Mac.
Known limitations
=/]/\still cannot be bound as tag shortcuts (architectural fix pending).- Cross-undo-manager gap: most Track operations are reachable via global undo, but the wiring is not unified yet. A workaround is in place.
Full version history will appear under pelaa.tv/release-notes once additional versions ship.
